In the infant room, babies are held, fed, and talked to throughout the day. Toddlers move between play and quiet rest, learning to share, stack, and sort. Preschoolers follow a curriculum that builds social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. Teachers plan activities that match each age, so children explore the world around them at their own pace.
Elementary children read and write in Book Club and Creative Writing and Journalism. They build literacy and math skills, take part in Readers Theater, and explore science and technology. Junior Achievement Enrichment adds more. Care connects with nearby schools, including Forest Hills, Hollywood Central, Horizon, Lake Forest, Village, Watkins, and Silver Lakes Elementary.
Education and Recreation mixes planned learning with time to move and play. Staff set out developmentally appropriate activities for children six weeks to five years. Some children read, some build, some practice writing their names. Teachers hold early childhood certification through four-year college degrees, and many are working toward further education or CDA certifications.
Value-Added Programs bring in literacy and mathematics practice, Readers Theater, Book Club, and Creative Writing and Journalism. Children also take part in Math, Science and Technology projects and Junior Achievement Enrichment. These activities run alongside the regular day, giving children a chance to try something new or go deeper into a subject they already like.
During winter break, school-age children come for holiday camp. They keep up with literacy and mathematics, perform in Readers Theater, join Book Club, and write for Creative Writing and Journalism. Math, Science and Technology projects and Junior Achievement Enrichment fill out the day. Children from Forest Hills, Hollywood Central, Horizon, Lake Forest, Village, Watkins, and Silver Lakes Elementary are welcome.
